Villa Nova Medical Clinic offers a range of appointment types to support your health needs.
When booking, please select the most appropriate appointment type to help ensure you receive the right care at the right time. If you are unsure which option to choose, please contact the clinic for guidance.

Appointment Types

New Issues Appointment

For concerns that have not been assessed before or represent a new problem, such as:

  • New symptoms (e.g., pain, infection, rash)

  • Mental health concerns

  • Medication questions about a newly prescribed treatment

  • Acute issues requiring assessment

Duration: Standard appointment length
Booking: Available with your primary provider

Follow-Up Appointment

For reviewing ongoing conditions, test results, or treatment plans, including:

  • Chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension)

  • Medication follow-up

  • Review of imaging or lab results

  • Monitoring symptoms previously assessed

Duration: Standard appointment length
Booking: Available with your primary provider

Virtual Appointment

Suitable for concerns that do not require a physical examination, such as:

  • Medication reviews

  • Follow-up for stable chronic conditions

  • Mental health check-ins

  • Review of bloodwork or imaging

Note: Some concerns may require an in-person visit at the physician’s discretion.

Prenatal Appointment

For routine prenatal care, including:

  • Regular pregnancy monitoring

  • Review of tests and ultrasounds

  • Prenatal counselling

Booking: Please choose the prenatal option when scheduling.

Procedure Appointment

For procedures offered by your physician, such as:

  • Cryotherapy

  • Skin lesion assessments

  • Joint injections (if applicable)

  • Pap tests (if not included in routine visits)

Procedure appointments are only available on designated days and may vary by physician.
Please ensure you select the correct provider and date.

Fast-Track / Same-Day Appointments (Dr. Hurley only)

Designated for quick assessments of simple, urgent issues, such as:

  • Minor infections

  • Prescription renewals for ongoing medications

  • Quick follow-up questions

Availability:
Tuesdays, 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm (may vary).
Not suitable for complex or multiple concerns.

In-Office Diagnostic Services

  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Pregnancy testing

  • Ear irrigation

  • Point-of-care tests (e.g., strep, urine dip)

Forms & Administrative Services

  • Medical forms (insurance, school, workplace)
  • Driver’s medicals

  • Sick notes (if medically appropriate)

  • Medication refills (during appointments only)

When to Call the Clinic Instead of Booking Online

Some concerns cannot be booked online and require speaking with clinic staff:

  • Urgent or same-day issues

  • Multiple concerns or complex appointments

  • Controlled-substance reviews (opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants)

  • Forms requiring significant documentation

  • Post-procedure concerns

  • New pregnancy concerns requiring earlier appointments

When to Seek Urgent Care

Please seek care from 811, a walk-in clinic, urgent care centre, or emergency department for:

  • Chest pain or difficulty breathing

  • Severe abdominal pain

  • Signs of stroke

  • Serious injury or trauma

  • Sudden worsening of symptoms
