New Patients

Please note:

At this time, Villa Nova Medical Clinic is accepting existing patients only.
We are not currently taking new patients. Prospective patients may check back here for updates, as availability may change throughout the year.

When We Accept New Patients

Our ability to take new patients depends on factors such as:

  • Physician availability

  • Clinic capacity

  • Provider panel sizes

  • Seasonal demand

When space becomes available, updates will be shared on this page.

Consents & Patient Agreements

All new patients must review and agree to our clinic's required consents and patient agreements before joining Villa Nova Medical Clinic. These documents outline how we communicate, how your health information is handled, and important expectations related to care, appointments, and clinic operations.

You can review these consents at any time using the link below.

These consents include:

  • Secure and unsecured communication options (PHI & non-PHI)

  • Use of AI-assisted documentation during appointments

  • Use of electronic forms (eForms)

  • Automated reminder notifications

  • Responsibilities and expectations outlined in our Patient Agreement

Please review these documents carefully, as they form an essential part of receiving care at our clinic.

What to Do in the Meantime

If you do not have a family physician, the following resources may be helpful:

  • 811 HealthLine – for non-emergent health questions, mental health support, and system navigation

  • Walk-in clinics or urgent care centres – for immediate or same-day concerns

  • Provincial patient waitlist (Patient Connect NL) – register to be matched with a family physician or nurse practitioner

  • Mental Health Support – Bridge the gapp – self-help tools, mental health programs, and local resources

  • Virtual Care Services – access to online assessments depending on availability in your region

  • Community Health Centres (Primary Health Care NL) – public health services, chronic disease programs, and wellness supports

If you are unsure where to seek care, calling 811 can help direct you to the most appropriate service.

Why We Limit New Patient Intake

To ensure safe, timely, and high-quality care for our existing patients, each physician must keep their patient panel at a manageable size. Limiting new intake helps ensure:

  • Shorter wait times for current patients

  • Safer follow-up and continuity

  • Better access for urgent needs

  • Higher-quality ongoing care

We appreciate your understanding and patience.
