Fast-Track / Same-Day Clinic
Dr. Hurley offers a limited number of Fast-Track appointments for simple, single-issue concerns. These appointments are designed for quick assessments and are not suitable for complex or multiple concerns.
Availability:
-
Fast-Track appointments occur on Tuesdays
-
Appointment times are released at 9:00 am on the same day
-
Once full, no additional Fast-Track spots can be added for that day
Important:
Fast-Track appointments are very short in duration and must be focused on one quick concern only. Patients with multiple or complex issues will be asked to book a regular appointment instead.
Examples of appropriate Fast-Track concerns:
-
Simple prescription renewal
-
Minor infections or symptoms
-
Quick follow-up questions
-
Blood pressure check (if not requiring full reassessment)
Procedures & Collaborative Care
Dr. Hurley provides procedural care for his own patients and also supports procedural services for other physicians within Villa Nova Medical Clinic.
As part of an internal collaborative care arrangement:
-
Dr. Hurley performs procedures for Dr. Keihan Power’s patients when a procedural assessment or intervention is required
-
This occurs through internal consultation and referral between providers
-
Care is coordinated to ensure appropriate follow-up and continuity with the patient’s primary provider
Depending on the clinical concern:
-
Some patients may be contacted for an initial consultation or lesion review
-
In straightforward cases, patients may be booked directly into a procedure clinic without a separate consultation
This collaborative approach helps streamline access to procedural care while maintaining safe, coordinated, and patient-centred management.
Nurse-Led Appointments (RN Sheila)
Sheila, Dr. Hurley’s registered nurse, provides nursing services under clinic medical directives. Examples include:
-
Blood pressure checks
-
Weight checks and vitals
-
Vaccinations and injections
-
Pap tests (if applicable)
-
Wound care / dressing changes
-
Patient education
-
Ear irrigation
-
Other services within nursing scope
Important Note:
An appointment with the registered nurse does not include a same-day physician visit. All nursing encounters are reviewed by Dr. Hurley after clinic hours, and patients will be contacted only if follow-up or changes to care are required.
Blood Collection Services (Coming Soon)
Dr. Hurley’s RN will soon provide in-office blood collection services once supplies arrive and the service is launched.
This will be available to ALL patients of the Villa Nova Medical Clinic.
Further details will be posted once the service is active.
