Fast-Track Appointment Guidelines

What is a Fast-Track Appointment?

Fast-Track appointments are very short, focused visits reserved for simple, single concerns that can be safely addressed within a 5–10 minute window. These appointments allow the clinic to provide timely access for straightforward issues while keeping longer visits available for more complex care.

Fast-Track visits occur on Tuesdays, and spots are released at 9:00 am on the same day.

Appropriate Concerns for Fast-Track Appointments

These are issues that can typically be addressed quickly and do not require a full assessment:

Medication-Related

  • Simple prescription renewal (when stable and previously reviewed)
  • Dose clarification or quick medication question

Minor Acute Concerns

  • Minor skin rash or irritation
  • Mild ear discomfort

  • Mild sore throat

  • Uncomplicated UTI symptoms (may require RN triage first)

  • Simple eye irritation (not red-eye emergencies)

Monitoring & Follow-Up

  • Quick BP check (if not requiring medication adjustment)

  • Review of a single stable result previously flagged for follow-up

  • Review of a short-term symptom update

  • Wound check (non-complex)

Other Quick Items

  • Form completion only if previously discussed
  • Simple treatment request already in progress

  • Quick procedural follow-up (dressing check, visual assessment

Concerns Not Suitable for Fast-Track Appointments

Please do not book a Fast-Track appointment for:

  • More than one concern

  • Any issue requiring a physical exam beyond a brief check

  • New or worsening chronic disease symptoms

  • Chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness

  • Mental health concerns requiring a full discussion

  • Prescription renewals involving controlled substances

  • Complex or multiple medication issues

  • Anything requiring a full review, comprehensive history, or long-term planning

For these situations, please book a regular appointment.

Why These Limits Exist

Fast-Track appointments are intentionally brief.
Booking inappropriate concerns leads to:

  • rushed care

  • delays for other patients

  • the need for rebooking

  • inability to safely address your concern

Using Fast-Track only when appropriate ensures timely access for everyone.

If You’re Unsure
